An unknown paradise called by Arrábida Natural Park

Atualizado: 10 de dez. de 2024

Arrábida Natural Park is more than Serra da Arrábida. This portuguese National Park is made up of three axes, 35 km long, 17,641.16 geomorphological ha of the entire area, the so-called Arrábida mountain range, which are then the Risco and Arrábida mountains and the hills between the Outão and Setúbal, Serras de S. Luís and dos Gaiteiros, the Serras do Louro and São Francisco. In any of the mountains there will be an ecosystem protected by the classification of National Park, which are sea cliffs, endemic plant species, bird nesting and the preservation of trace fossils. The coastline is cut out by small bays with paradisiacal white sand beaches and generally topped by cliffs that are considerable heights, and for the greatest adventurers. The sea that bathes this Park is the Atlantic Ocean, which can be seen in an almost turquoise blue, with constant visits from our bottlenose dolphin friends, in contrast with the green of the beautiful vegetation characteristic of this area. The least positive point is the water temperature, which is colder than on the other beaches on the Costa Azul of the Setúbal Península. It is a place that does not have a large tourist influx, which is an advantage for those who like to have more contact with the culture of Portugal. Gastronomy is one of the strong points of this country, and the Setúbal Peninsula also has its specialties, which I will cover here on the blog in the future. Have you already visited?
